All right all S43 people! Time to update our oh-so-happening blog with something more current and obviously more exciting. I somehow have the feeling that some of you guys out there actually visit this blog occasionally, just to find out in your disappointment that our last updates is on November. And I think we should also remove that National Day photos for goodness sake. So, here we go:

S43 Christmas Party!

What: Party lah..duh..

When: Monday 22 Dec 08 evening

How: Bring food, cause it's a potluck. (Can someone bring Taboo or other board games?! I think we all quite enjoyed playing this kind of games. You can bring Wii also)

So, since it's a potluck, I would like to suggest some food that I think quite nice, has small risk of food poisoning (just joking), can be prepared quite easily by non-experienced chef like most of us (except Martin who went for cooking course) and obviously can bring up the Christmas spirit in one or another way:

1. Honey Baked Ham

It looked nice and I think many people will like it. Can serve this together with bread, baguette, or even baked potatoes.

I dun think it's a good idea if we have a lot of fried food like fries, or hash brown, cause those food are quite "hot", according to what Chinese believe, so you may get sore throat. We don't want to have sore throat after party, this is not BBQ.

One more thing, in case you are wondering, one packet of this ham in Giant costs you about $14. But the only problem that we have now is: who knows how to cook ham? Do you just fry it or what?

2.Spaghetti

Yes, the picture here looked very nice.

Should be quite easy to be prepared. There're two parts: the spaghetti and the sauce. For the spaghetti, you just have to boil it with water and a bit of salt, then add some olive oil. For the meat and the sauce, you need tomato paste (which is different with tomato sauce), tomato sauce (which is different with tomato paste), and you can buy the minced meat from supermarket.

You can also add mushroom, then add the Parmesan cheese. I think this one should cost you less than $20.

3. Ayam penyet a.k.a. flattened fried chicken

Try this signature Javanese food! Taste exotic, but I am not sure whether it suits the Christmas theme. Anyway, I'm just suggesting to you guys, perhaps you would like to try something with more authentic taste, especially the special sambal.

This mouth-watering dish costs you $6 per person. I think it's quite worthy for you to try.

Yup, that's all I can think of for now. By all means, feel free to comment and suggest other food that you may like. So share with us some of your favorites. After all this party is for all of us to enjoy. :)

The Empire Strikes back

With the Imperial exams closing, the emperor, yes me, can finally come back and govern the country. Apparently besides having to supervise this important exam, I too was forced into doing the papers so as to ensure that there were no mistakes in the papers and that the standard of the paper was fair. I have also devised a new and original system called the "bell curve system" to ensure that this fairness is implemented. I believe in no time countries will start using this new system that i, the emperor of the Chen empire, created.
Well it may have seemed that i was missing in the past few months. Rumors are spreading saying that i fell together with the fall of the huat empire BUT please do not be deceived!! No way i'll lose to someone that does my chores. I'm alive and well, stronger than before i believe, and Chen gonggong is back in the palace doing what he's good at doing:cleaning. With regards to Chen gonggong, i believe there's a problem. He still talks like a male and hence i deduced that the "cutting" session did not go smoothly the other time and i'll like to enrole him for another session. Please take note of this.
Yes, recently i have disguised myself and secretly lived with the people of my country. I have discovered new sightings such as the UNUSUAL making out session in the ice skating ring and i believe this could have been the influence of a new superpower that has risen. I've yet to look properly look into this since i have a more pressing issue such as the REBELLION of my dear Prime minister.
He is organising something which i believe is a coup where its meeting would take place seriously in genting highlands. So far there are 5 rebels and because of this low number of rebels, i believe he has organised and nice super cool, fun, exciting and wonderful chalet to recruit more people into his rebellion. He has allied with the Japanese emperor, Daniel, who has generously book his recruitment venue:the chalet. Though i'm against his rebellion but i believe we all, the people of the CHEN empire should go because i would be making a surprise visit and i would expose and take Prime Minister Tan down there and then. Did i mention that the chalet is nice super cool, fun, exciting and wonderful already? The post of Prime minister will be vacant and so far the most suitable candidate is my chief magistrate Jared and the least suitable is Chen gonggong(haha even if i didn't write this, i'm sure you all know who's the least suitable. Except maybe for Chen gonggong himself).

The Japanese Emperor

The Japanese Emperor has done it!!! He managed to book the chalet!!! Now even Emperor Chen needs to kowtow to him. Hahahaha... ok i m just being retarded.

Anyway we are meeting at 3:30pm @ Pasir Ris MRT. There shld be no BBQ (mabbe marshmellows only) and therefore you poor fellows gonna buy your own meals. But don't worry, Downtown East has everything you need to survive in the chalet as long as you have the $$$. Do bring enough money so that pickpockets like me can steal.

The more people go, the less you need to pay. Pray that people like Thana and Likai will go, and i can assure u will pay as little as $5.50/person.

If not, the estimated cost for a single dude shld be $10 -$15 inclusive of GST and service charge.

Hello ladies and gentlemen! i haven't posted on this blog since the fall of Huat's empire. Anyway, i've decided to betray the emperor and ally Huat to organize a...

GENTING TRIP! [thunder!]

It will be around 16th of December and probably a 3D2N trip. (date not confirmed but definitely cleaven cannot go haha) So if u're interested, u re more than welcomed to join us! Huat is helping us to book all the stuff we need so we can get our butts there.

For now there are 5 confirmed traitors of the Chen's empire:
Huat, me, Yeeling, Wan Sing, Ser En. We definitely need more people if we want our trip to be rebellious.

As for the chalet, everything is now in the hands of the Japanese Emperor Daniel Ho. That dude is the only person in the class whose parents own the NTUC membership card. But so far no news. Lol.

I would like to start of this post by saying that all the ponner should have just come to school, especially those easties (you know who you are). Why? Because it could've been boring but it could have been fun if you had the right mindset. What do I mean? Just let your hair loose and revel in the fact that you are Singaporean. Despite what some may say you have to admit that our country kinda rocks in various ways. Most importantly, to have fun, one must admit to oneself that national day songs, although possibly a tool for social engineering, are fun to sing along to. Anyway here's one of the stupid things we did during what is our last school national day celebrations. ( I will badger WJ to upload his stuff too, trust me they are way more interesting than my pictures...I mean CPM on a jeep acting like he's Nathan? PRICELESS. And yeah we played chapteh and WJ didn't tear a hole, or more aptly a rift/abyss in his pants :P)

How? Create a digital 'tile' that represents your class/CCA. You are encouraged to showcase the events and people that have been significant to your journey over the past two years (that includes yourselves, of course).

Instructions:
-Dimensions: 1 Powerpoint slide
-Use photographs, drawings, sketches, text etc to form a montage.
-It should be clear which class or CCA you are from.

So let's be part of this project! I got one damn cool idea. Because *ahem* is so "camera-shy", we should have a competition to gather as many camera shots of *ahem* as possible.

Of course, we can include stuff like *cough*pokemonvictoria*cough* and of course whatever pics that we already have. And other bastard ideas like uh... licking spoons, uh... exact change, uh...TCM (with the help of photoshop... if this pulls thru it's going to be damn imba hehehe)

Hello guys and girls!

There is a big fuss going around college about SDD, most of it is not exactly positive though. Frankly I think people think that prom is lame and they are too cool for school. They'd rather rent a chalet and then hang out there. Well, I see it differently, prom is the last formal school events in your uniform-wearing lives! Now is that a big deal or not? Okay maybe it doesn't sound all that great but I mean its a cohort thing rather than a class thing no? You get to see all your friends from your CCA and your wider social circle all decked out in their best. You get to mingle with everybody you want to.
Granted it may not be good enough a reason and you may say that the turnout is low it's gonna suck. I advocate supporting it so it doesn't suck. Plus would you regret wasting 100 dollars or not going to a prom that may potentially be a nice experience?

How this thing works:

This thing works top down, i.e. person at the top passes message down the line.
Whenever you get a message, pass it down immediately. DO NOT wait, in case you forget to pass the message afterwards.
If the subject reps have anything to relay to the class, they will have to pass the message to me or Jiaxin in addition to the person below him/her. (Hence the double-headed arrows)
e.g. If Reuben needs to remind everyone to hand in some Maths Assignment the next day, he will pass the message to Jiaxin and Martin (who's next after Reuben). Jiaxin will then pass the message to the other 2 reps (in this case, Ser En and Laura) plus me; I will pass the message to the 3 reps under me.
Note: the order of the names have been randomised (except the reps'.)

Hi... this blog has been neglected for some time XD so I decided to put up some random class pic as out blog banner. At least now we have something decent (if not overly spectecular) instead of the grey patch ><"

Meanwhile, hope everyone is having/have had fun at whatever events and stuff, like going on holidays, NSSN or choir concert, or going for a research attachment (for sadf**ks like me...)

Oh, main point: Merry Christmas to everyone! Don't know if you guys still come here, since you guys might have presumed that this blog is dormant (to put it nicely)/dying (to put it crudely)... Life's been fun with you guys from S43 around, thanks for the memorable times we've had on outings/lunches/dinners/tutorials/lectures =)

This is what I wrote on my blog for my year-in-review post on my blog:

07S43! Spastic bunch of people. Like passing a piece of paper around during tutorial and getting ppl to add words to create a story… Or play scissors-paper-stone with your neighbour with the loser having to ask a dumb question… Zonghe filming a video of ppl sleeping during a Chemistry Lab session… Wenjun coming into class on the first day in PE tee and beginning a one-week feud with Mr Chow… Card games at the treehouse (and having to cheer a VJ cheer from there ><”)… Dunking Reuben at Mandarin Gardens swimming pool and getting scolded by the security guard; on the contrary, we were scolded by Mr Ho Wei Kang even before we tried to dunk Wenjun in the fountain -_-” And of course the Chen Dynasty thing! Really bonded our class (I don’t know how also…) with many funny jokes abt Chen gong-gong and Reuben going “HUANG1 MIU4!!!” ROFL! Love you guys!
(Wow that was a long paragraph for S43!)

Of course that wasn't ALL that happened, I would most probably have forgot most of what happened... Lols... let's look forward to more fun when we get back to school! (you guys must be thinking: awww damn...)

The Return of the Emperor

In the past few months, there has been peace in the dynasty however this peace we're all experiencing is an apprehensive peace. This is because till this very date, Mr and Mrs D and the German Dictator are still standing. Well, we were caught up with the imperial exams(promos and PW) however now that its over they can be rest assured that we will be hunting them down like how Chen gonggong hunts for girls in school(shame shame).
Today as made my way to the lab to wrap up the imperial exams, i met the German dictator who was on his way to the computer lab to print his stuff. I was accompanied by my supreme guard shreya and ambassador laura and therefore i was not afriad(but even if they're not there i still wouldn't be afriad. HA!). There he was, tall, dark and handsome, twirling his thumbdrive with his finger. Our peripheral visions intersected and thus allowed our eyes to meet. He stopped moving. We stopped moving. All was motionless except for that twirling thumbdrive. The wind howled. The tree rustled. Someone's MP3 was playing too loud and thus the tense atmosphere was provided with a final fantasy battle theme song. Shreya shouted:"Cricket bat!" and out of nowhere a cricket bat appeared in her hand. She was ready to strike down that German wannabe German dictator. Suddenly the chain that held the thumbdrive to the string gave way and the thumbdrive smacked the German dictator in his face. He blushed. Ashamed, he fled the scene and was never seen again today.
He can run, but he can't hide. We'll get him someday.

which is supposed to happened now that its time to enjoy life. my present class is having a bowling and picnic thing today but could we please not have bowling for ours, its almost as bad as kboxing. (my apologies to diane) no i take that back, nothing can be anyway near as bad as kboxing. but i think picnic's cool! and we can sit on the breakwaters and sing ENGLISH songs for FREE instead of forking money out of our very light pockets to do it sadlife style.

and PLEASE no guys taking off shirts unless you've got a body like the guy on the muaythai poster, or overwhelming sex appeal (like Gatsby) to compensate for it if you dont. i think the guys in 43 tend to fall under the nice gentlemanly refined well behaved category, the kind you'd like to have sitting and emoing with you with all their clothes on. dont worry about girls in bikinis, it just aint gonna happen =P

but as sadlife says we'll be getting results back next week which might kinda spoil everything so i suggest two separate parties, for the people celebrating 4 As and for the emo depressed suicidal ones. (needless to say i can take charge of the latter) i'd love to proclaim cleaven in charge of the former but we have to anticipate the tragedy of him getting 99.5 for one of his papers and changing his mind about his choice of post exam celebrations.

After ignoring this blog to almost an extent of boycotting it, I shall post a motivational message to everyone out there mugging hard for math tomorrow (excluding me because I'm the only one crazy enough to go online now). Jia you! If i had that chinese typing programme thingie I would write jia you in chinese but I don't.

Lit and Chem on thursday, hurray for those of us sane enough to take that combi. ( please tell me that you can sense my sarcasm), not that I haven't moaned about it enough to everyone who's asked me how my preparations are but dear old charlie and scotty are at the moment my least favourite authors. I mean, WHO in the WORLD write such DEPRESSING stuff???? Besides Dear old willy who I am exceeding glad we're not doing, I mean, war poetry? (oooh,bimbo moment)

Lets recount how depressing the books are

(1) Great expectations. The guy doesn't get the girl. The nice old man dies and there's this evil witch who hasn't BATHED for 30 years and sits the whole day rotting away in her house with one shoe on and one shoe off. PLUS, the disgusting old witch has let her yummy wedding cake rot on the table till all the maggots have infested it JUST because her fiance left her on her wedding day. Yesyes, we know you're heartbroken miss havisham, but seriously, get a life. Oh, but she catches on fire at the end of the book, so don't worry, she does finally change her clothes.

(2) The Great Gatsby. Not as boring as Great Ex but EQUALLY DEPRESSING!! Gatsby, who is the epitome of sexiness plus charisma, DIES!! Not only does he die but so does myrtle wilson and george wilson who gets knocked down by a car and commits suicide respectively but no one cares about them because they're not as sexy as Gatsby. The thing is, Gatsby is like, THE ideal guy! He waited for his true love for 5 years and in that time she had already become married. Sigh, why do all the good guys die?

(3) Wilfred Owen's war poetry which we are not tested on. YES! Willy is a a wee bit too depressing, HELLO?? It's war poetry, what more can I say?

No wonder we're depressed, Vj's out to get us.

I've been trying to study.

studying is tough. its hard. its like unchewable meat. to study well, the trick is to tenderize it, making it soft and easy to handle. it can be done with a few methods:

1: Plan where you want to eat first. Physics in gaylang, chemistry in cahdung, econs in tenpenis, math in youknows, wherever you want. you may wanna plan to save time.

2: Disect your steak (pile of notes) to bite-size portions. It is much easier to eat it part by part, and its also easier to digest.

3: Chew it slowly. More haste less speeed. savour to excellent taste, knowledge is priceless, you must take it all.

4. DO NOT overstress yourself. If u are sick of chewing and swallowing, take a break! drink some 1962 vintage wine, or just some water-cooler soda to freshen up yourself.

5. However, do not be distracted too! some people across the restaurant (canteen) can be quite eye catching. maintain, please.

The Fullerton Hotel

According to my Prime minister and imperial artist, Mr and Mrs D have moved to the Fullerton hotel. Having walls made from the toughest stone on earth, the fullerton hotel is a mighty stronghold that has never fallen. The CIC has already been deployed to take down the stronghold and this is what he said upon interviewing him:"Chey! easy la.". With such confidence, the morale of his troops were all +100.

It was as dark as darkness. As scary as Ju-on. There on the highest level of the fullerton hotel stood Mr and Mrs D dressed in skimpy clothings. Around the entire fullerton hotel stood warriors of the CHEN dynasty led personally by the CIC zonghe. In a loud macho voice the CIC shouted:"Surrender now or prepare to fight!". In response they did it. They started the fight. His hands grabbed her head. Her hands grabbed his head. Within split seconds both lips were in contact. Immediately cries were heard everywhere. The soldiers who could not handle the attack all fell to their knees in defeat. 15000 troops were killed by the attack. The CIC stood strong. He slammed the ground with his hockey stick of justice and Mr and Mrs D lost contact with each other. The Imperial physician was signalled to and he flung his 72 needles to the 72 weakest points of the walls of the fullerton hotel using his 72 needle acupuncture technique. The wall crippled. The remaining 285,000 troops dashed into the fullerton hotel, each ready to bring the heads of Mr and Mrs D home. Suddenly from behind a black figure appeared. "Its..its Th..Thana!" exclaimed the soldiers. With muiltitudes of German soldiers following behind, the morale of the CIC's troops became -50. The CIC slain 432,543 of the german soldiers but they kept coming. There was no end to it. The CIC had no choice but to retreat to save the lives of his soldiers. He signalled to the Chief magistrate. The Chief magistrate then threw up his law booklet into the sky. Everyone was blinded(The law is blind). The CIC and his 285,000 then retreated. They live to fight another day.

Chen Gonggong PUNISHED

He said my Prime minister, Grand Advisor and imperial Artist rebelled(when it was actually me who sent them to check if Mr and Mrs D have really been killed). He said he didn't know who the Empress Dowager was. When he finally found out, he scolded her BLACKIE and said it is impossible to clean her. By calling her a BLACKIE and saying it is impossible to clean my mother, you, Chen gonggong, have implied that I, The Emperor, cannot be cleaned and that I am also a BLACKIE. And when you say its impossible to clean the Emperor, you imply that everybody cannot be cleaned. YOU, CHEN GONGGONG, have set your very self against the entire CHEN dynasty and today if I do not deal with you according I will no longer be called the Emperor. LAI REN!!!(guards), take Chen gonggong away!!

Chen gonggong will be known as the imperial broom, the imperial mop, my mother's punching bag and the Para Para dance pad. To sweep the floor, 5 maids will have to turn Chen gonggong around and together they'll use Chen gonggong's hair to sweep the floor. To mop the floor, a stick will have to be attached to Chen gonggong's belly button and his entire body will be used as a mop. After fulfilling his daily household duties, he would then be brought to my mother's room to be a punching bag. My mother's daily punching exercise would certainly have to end early as the place would be wet and red in mere minutes. Then the maids would come in and mop up the crap with the imperial mop, hmmm thats you chen gonggong! Once all of that is done, Chen gonggong will be sent to the imperial arcade where he will become the Para Para dance pad. The 'up' arrow will be his face, the 'down' arrow will be his stomach and the 'left' and 'right' arrows will be his left and right hand respectively. People of the CHEN dynasty, I know you all like Para Para so i specially got this installed for you all. With this pad, the game is brought to a higher level as the ground pad is uneven. ENJOY!

Bye Bye Hotel 81

28Aug2007, 9.31pm, ended in a spectacular fashion. I, the Emperor, frantically spammed the refresh button to ensure there was no mistake. After clicking for approximately 29 times i checked the tagboard. It wasn't there. The words were not there. The apology was not there. I signalled the CIC zonghe to begin the extermination. In a quick action he slammed the ground with his hockey stick. The earth shook and shook even more as the 300,000 troops dashed forward with their battling rams."Bang!Clang!Bomb!Ching!Baaa!" Hotel 81 crumbled to its knees in just a few short minutes. The 300,000 troops then withdrawed to give the final kill to the CIC zonghe. The CIC gripped his hockey stick, raised it up, took a few steps forward and flung it like a javelin towards the remains of the hotel 81. A huge explosion took place and no brick was seen lying above another brick from then on. Everyone inside was killed. Everyone including Mr.and Mrs D. Up till today Mr and Mrs D are nowhere to be found. The CIC raised both his hands up to declare victory and each and every one of the 300,000 troops roared in symphony. Upon seeing this defeat, "Emperor" Huat decided to rejoin the CHEN dynasty. He recently went for an operation to get SOME THINGS fixed as he didn't like the title of gonggong. His future position is currently unconfirmed. Right this very moment, The CIC and his 300,000 troops are camping at the devastated site of hotel 81. Their next mission: Bye Bye Germany.

Your have heard of the defeats of the supreme guard and CIC. Your have heard of the rebellion of Chen gonggong. Your have heard of the plights of the imperial artist. In summary, your have heard and seen many nasty things in the CHEN dynasty. Why?! People people! I bring your attention to Mr and Mrs D. They are back! This time with more intriguing action, more dramatic drama and more body to body contact. And they are the cause of all these problems. Today i hereby issue a warning to them: If by 28 Aug 2007 at 9.30pm Mr and Mrs D does not apologise to the entire CHEN dynasty of their misdeeds on the tagboard, war will be officially declared on them. We have currently surrounded their base in hotel 81 with 300,000 troops led personally by CIC Zonghe. Spy 07s4301 has already been secretly embedded in the hotel to report their movements. Lets end this tyranny once and for all before we proceed to tear down the German Empire led by German dictator Thana.

chief magistrate took part in a taekwondo tournament today and did very well. he won 3 round beautifully and lost the last only by half a point to clinch the silver medal. we're all very proud of him. go chief magistrate!

Friendship, Friends and 07s43

As I sat with my family and a few of my parents' friends at the boardwalk at Keppel Club tonight, the conversation turned to school. My father's friend, Uncle Paul, asked me how has Old Vic been treating me. Old Vic in this case, refers to his beloved Victoria family of schools.
As and IP kid I told him that we felt different from the rest. In the sense that we only had 2 years of sec school life, whereas the rest had enjoyed 4 years of it. They had stronger friendships and bonds with their school then we ever had. We took VJ for granted whilst the others felt honoured to be part of it. Sounds quite sad right? However he later told me that the your JC and university friends are the ones who will stay with you throughout life. In that sense I guess it really won't matter if we missed out on secondary school life if what he said was true. That's why it occurred to me that the friends we make now are to be treasured. They are people who know you for who you are, your idiosyncrasies , your talents, your plus points and whatever I missed out. Some people may beg to differ on this, saying that people in JC are superficial, but I would like to believe that the friends I have now, as in those whom I really feel are friends, are sincere and like me not because of any status that I have. Even in university the same can be said, just less so, my senior told me that they were more superficial and that she misses her JC friends, telling me to always make and effort to maintain the friendships made there.
I guess we should count ourselves lucky to have such a class, it's got a good mix. IP, non IP, lit,econs, tsd, art and even bio! It's got choir, TKD,dance , floorball,hockey, harmoc,band people. Furthermore I think our class dynamics rock! Sure we fight and have our disagreements, but after what happened that day, I realised that we are a class of people who make really good friends! So cheers to s43!
I really don't know why I really wrote this, guess I may be bored and hence I bore you with this long post which sometimes deviates into a stream of consciousness. I think the actual reason may be that I have been pondering on the idea of friendship after that whole incident, and I finally have something to show for it.

Another fine day in the very fine CHEN dynasty. All seemed peaceful. All seemed harmonious. Chen gonggong had just recovered from his illness and Mr. D had been quiet recently(no acts of indecency). SUDDENLY someone struck. An aerial projectile zoomed over to Mr.D causing Mr.D to cross his arms like how Ultraman blocks. His usual "Heh heh heh" laughter was then emitted from his mouth. Who? Who seized the opportunity to eliminate Mr.D once and for all? I turned my precious royal head by 5 degrees and saw my imperial physician. Amazing! A simple invention of a rubber band and a paper bullet created to instill pain and suffering to their targets. It was simply amazing. The imperial physician then prepared for his second shot. BANG! The paper bullet flew pass Mr.D, flew pass the imperial scholar and flew pass me to eventually smack the German Dictator right in the head. The sting from the bullet engulfed his angry soul. As tears trickled down from his eyes, he pointed at me and said:"This means war!!" Immediately my supreme guard and CIC got off their seats to protect me. The CIC's 300,000 troops then stormed down the v37 classroom, each pointing their swords at the German Dictator. I got up and started to laugh:" Muhahaha... war against me?? Are you competent? Muhahaha" Just then I felt something. Something hit my royal butt. I turned my royal head 180 degrees only to see my imperial physician,with his unrepentent laugh, holding a rubber band with his index finger and thumb. I peered down onto the floor and saw the bullet. The paper bullet. He then looked up to me and asked:" Ermm... can i treat you?" The fire of anger broiled in me. His imprudence frustrated me. I looked down once again, this time to examine my backside. IT WAS UNEVEN!! AHHHH!! Everything became messy from then on. The German Dictator slipped pass my supreme guard, CIC and the 300,000 troops. Princess Diane lauched a paper bullet and it hit my royal butt again, making it more uneven. Out of mortification, i felt i had to shoot someone with the paper bullet. I took the rubber band and randomly launched the paper bullet and it hit my loyal Chief magistrate. He fell to the ground in pain. I understood how he felt. I understood perfectly how he felt.

Imperial Edict
1) Imperial physician is to treat the Emperor immediately. Hard to sit down.

I have received terrible news of rising empires that might threaten the very existance of the
CHEN® Empire and these news was none other than the source of my illness the previous day. Fortunately my imperial physician was by my side and he was the one who treated and healed me. I remembered clearly how he did it.
Dark clouds loomed over the imperial palace as i lay helpless in bed. Beside me seated my dear mother and empress, each taking turns to shower their love on me. It was good. (But that's besides the point) Suddenly the doors flung open. A dark figure walked in with great speed as he approached me to ask for permission to treat me. Immediately, the empress and empress dowager made way for him to begin the treatment. He stomped the ground with his mighty foot and my shirt was riped apart. He then opened his needle bag and propelled all his needles into the air. With great speed and agility,great power and strength, he grabbed a needle then poked. Grabbed then poked. This motion was repeated for 30 seconds and he completed poking the 72 meridians of my body. I felt strength seeping into my body once again. My muscles expanded like never before. My vision was sharper than it previously was. Amazing. The imperial physician was just amazing. After all my channels were cleared, from his pocket he told out a magnet and in one clean swoop, he removed all 72 needles that were embedded in my body.

So today i, The Emperor, am feeling better and am here to address the people once again. The German empire has been revoluntionized by the German Warlord Thana. After realising that his wife was a spy sent by me, he seized the opportunity to overthrow the government and now from what i have heard from my ambassador Laura, she says that he is now the German Dictator. Up till now we do not know clearly his intentions but we must be on our guard!
Spy 07s4301(amoudtha), you have failed your mission...How could you reveal your identity?
But anyways the CHEN® Empire welcomes you back.

Here are some events that have occured.
1) The empress has adopted the female advisor to be her daughter as a birthday present. She will now be known as Princess Jiaxin.
2) Advisor Shakura has found out that she is the daughter of the French King thus she will now be known as Princess Shakura. She will be living in our country forever as she feels attached to it.
3) The Japanese Princess has decided that she wants to turn over her misdeeds, thus she has
decided to join the CHEN® Empire to fight evil. She will be known as Princess Diane.
4) Advisor Cleaven will be promoted to Grand advisor due to his fantastic performance in the pool game that led to out victory.
5) CIC Zonghe will be given another 100,000 troops also because of his great performance in the pool game.
6) My 3 tutors(Wan sing, Beverley and Yeeling) will be given a pay rise as they had set the Chem lecture test to a very high standard that even the Emperor, yes me, was stumped.

An artist ventured into the world of Magritte, what will he find? And what will YOU find? Is imagination more powerful than reality? Or is reality the one that overpowers everything?

This is a short film inspired by the artworks by Belgium Artist Rene Magritte, directed by He Xuan, Ser En and Wen Jun.

Since Magritte is a surrealist, we have taken on a surrealist approach to the film. The mood of the film changes with the music, like some Dali films for that you can find on youtube.

It's our first attempt, so there are some flaws that you might be able to spot, please feel free to make any comments to help us improve. Hope that you enjoy it!

Emperor Chen has left me disappointed after he threw me out of his empire...( i used to be the ultimatespy...code no.07s4301)...to the german empire. (no offence to the German king) The emperor has made a grave mistake. I see his unwillingness to keep me in his kingdom as disrespect. It is a direct insult to me and i feel rage. Thus, as the female leader of the German empire, i have decided to go to war with the Chen empire;with the Queen of France by my side. All those loyal to the german empire and anyone willing to fight shall join me and my army.

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned...muahahaha....

Test: Passed

And so today i am proud to announce that my loyal subjects have successfully passed the test. This test was specially organised to examine the bond between my subjects so that in times of war we will stand by each other till the very end. Organised specially on my female advisor's birthday, the test was launched at approximately 8pm on the 18th of August. I, the sovereign Emperor, opened my mouth and asked them:"Which is the greater sex?" Things turned nasty from that moment. My mother, the empress dowager, and my empress, my wife, slammed the table and shouted:"We the females are the greatest!" As one was sitting opposite me and the other beside me, their amylase coated food in their mouths rained on me like cats and dogs. My CIC, in response, gave a strong whistle:"whew wee!" (whistle sound) and immediately the 200,000 warriors under him stormed down Billy Bombers. With a grin on his face, he then politely replied to my mother:"We males are the greatest!". My female advisor and male advisor, on the other hand, huddled together and started advising themself to be calm. My imperial artist took out her paint brush, wet it, and started flicking water at my Prime minister as she gleefully exclaimed to herself:"females are the greatest!". As a result the Prime minister's flowery language burst out. The chief magistate upon seeing this took out paper and started to write laws to put an end to the fighting but failed as water from the imperial artist's paint brush disintergrated whatever he was writing. All was messy. All was calamitous.
In the end, each sex went their own way. I, the Emperor, was about to declare a total failure of the test and that there would be a MAJOR reshuffling of the imperial court however i fell asleep and thus decided to do it the next day and to my surprise, it was settled by then. All was peaceful. All was serene. Well done!
We are now ready for war. We are now stronger then ever. We are now ONE empire.

Of course, I'm not talking about PM Lee, who is making a speech now at National University Of Singapore Cultural Centre.

From the conversation yesterday, I realised that our dear zhai xiang (meaning Prime Minister) of the CHEN Empire is a really shan4 bian4 (changeable) person. He seriously changes his mood faster than Emperor Huat changes his concubines.

The Summary of An MSN Conversation With PM Wen Jun Yesterday:

(PM Wen Jun is fuming with anger from something unpleasant and Imperial Artist Ser En tries to talk him out.)
PM: @#$%^&*... don't care.
IA: We're a class afterall.

Lesson learnt: Don't waste your energy trying to convince PM Wen Jun to believe in something. He will work it out himself someday, sometime.

i can't believe i'm actually blogging, but i guess i have to, due to popular demand. haha. oh and by the way, my birthday period actually spans over at least a month, so i shall be, and treated as, the birthday girl for all this time. HAHA. i insist.

anyway i shall talk about yesterday. it was the most unexpected kind of birthday celebration ever, which really turned out wrong. it was just misunderstandings (always) that led to unhappiness towards the other party. but the meal was nice though, BILLY BOMBERS, omg. what happened after the meal was stupid and not worthy to be spoken about. but the fun started when we all reached home, haha. we talked from, what, 12 to 3am. it's like the coolest class conference ever. we thrashed everything out, and laughed at ourselves. a pity to those who were left out, for example, emperor, who was the nicest guy that night :). everything's settled and i think our friendship grew stronger, really. PEACE!

Why? Why must it come to this? Is the war necessary? The CHEN® Empire has never intended any harm to any of your. All i ask is that your remain loyal and CHASTE and together we will tide through thick and thin. HOWEVER if your persist in your undignified practices, the CHEN® Empire will go to war with you. My crack imperial physician(PR) has recently given treatment to the CIC. Today once again he stands tall. Commanding legions of conversant warriors, he is ready to instill fear into the hearts of those who oppose. Everyone is ready, all including my female advisor who stills imagines herself becoming the senior minister. Like what my Prime minister would say:"Dang2 Ku2 Ku4"(wait long long!). Also LiKai, a military Strategist, has recently entered my service after long persuasions during the physics tutorial. You may have noticed that eh? sometimes he's not here, eh? sometimes he's not there. That's right he is busy coming up with complex military strategies that would render any enemy powerless. Please try to stay away from Imperial Artist Ser En for as much as you can until the dark mist casting over her has gone away. Stay near her and you'll get implicated.

After breaking three things last Saturday (bulb I, minnie mouse glass, bulb II - read Advisor Cleaven's blog for more details), today she got another row of three again. Jackpot!

It first started during the Chinese period this morning, while Prime Minister Wen Jun was enjoying himself somewhere else, Chinese Ambassador Miss He Xuan and Imperial Artist Ser En were working hard on the great, great documentary on Emperor Chen that will leave the world saying "I'm Shocked!"

Suddenly, Morgan stomped into the room looking for a 'something' 'en'. Imperial Artist Ser En thought he said 'Ser En', so she went out with him. With a deep and commanding voice, he said "Come with me, I need to talk to you.' Imperial Artist, at once, knew that it won't be anything good. Quoting from Emperor Chen, Ser En was alone, Ser En was afraid. She almost cried out to Ambassador He for help, but she was totally concentrating on the great masterpiece on Emperor Chen that she failed to notice her. So, Ser En was captured and brought all the way to his office...

He said that he found some illegal migrants in v26 yesterday and they stayed there until 6.30pm. They said a something "En" person invited them in. Furious, once he reached school this morning, he hunted down this person and wanted to "talk some sense into her". As a matter of fact, at the same time yesterday, Imperial Artist Ser En was happily creating melodies with the guitar. Unless technology is so advanced in the Chen dynasty that a clone of Imperial Artist could be created, there is no way she could appear in v26. It took her a moment to realise that he was actually talking about "Xiao Wen".

So, Imperial Artist Ser En was being wrongly accused and wasted 15 minutes of her precious life being scared. She could have used that 15 minutes drawing the diamonds on Emperor Chen's robes. Emperor Chen, you must find justice for the Imperial Artist. Execute all of these people!

For the next incident, we have to date it back to Tuesday, where Imperial Artist Ser En was fully prepared to go for the 3rd training in preparation for warfare, she received a call from Supreme Guard Shreya that all of the Imperial Guards and Imperial Scholars decided not to go training for reasons beyond the understanding of mankind, Worthy Ambassador Jagraj explained that it was because God decided to shower mankind with water from the Heavens (probably to thank Emperor Chen for the great work that he has done) and all of us have to be there to witness the event.

Today, during the 1st and 2nd training in preparation for warfare, General Lim found out from the sacred pink paper (that decides whether a person lives or dies) that Imperial Artist missed the training in preparation for warfare on Tuesday. (Note: General Lim, in this matter, has a higher post than Imperial Artist. As the name Imperial Artist does not suggest anything physical, she is a mere recruit in times of war.) Imperial Artist explained to her the heavenly event, but she didn't buy it. So, Imperial Artist was lectured by her for about 10 minutes. General Lim told Imperial Artist to submit the list of the people who did not turn up for the training. Afraid, alone, but dignified and loyal to the Chen dynasty, Imperial Artist refused to and it just so happened that her comrades were not in sight, so General Lim ended the lecture by saying that Imperial Artist was unlucky that she was the only person there.

It's ok, it's alright. Imperial Artist Ser En will do anything for the Chen dynasty.

The third thing happened at night, when Imperial Artist and friend of the Emperor's mother, Miss Jia Xin (your majesty, please give her a post), was enjoying some melodious melodies in the royal performance theatre.

Right after the performance by the talented musicians from the neighbouring countries of Chen country, a middle-aged, male, red-haired (ang-moh) person from an unknown faraway country appeared in front of the Imperial Artist and Miss Jia Xin, mumbling in a language alien to the Chen dynasty. The only sentences the Imperial Artist picked up was, "Hey, girls...", "25 years of..", "finest music appreciation..."

Judging from his facial expression, it was understood that he was pissed with the Imperial Artist and Miss Jia Xin. For what, was not exactly known, probably because Imperial Artist and Miss Jia Xin were discussing (may I emphasize that they were sort of whispering?) about the melodious melodies during the performance itself. However he was sitting relatively far away from them, around 15 seats. Even the people in front of the two of them could not even hear what they were talking about. The people behind the two of them were talking even louder. He was probably pissed with everyone but just because the two of them were sitting in the same row as him, it's nearer for him to aim at to release the anger building up in him.

So, it all boils down to one word: SWAY.

... and huang1 miu4! How dare he come to the Chen dynasty and offend the Imperial Artist and the best friend of the Emperor's mom? Your Majesty, you must find justice for them!

I, the Emperor, was born an orphan. At a very young age my parents vanished right before my eyes. My Father, the ex-emperor, fought bravely against Genghis Ho(Mr.D's father) during his reign and eventually died because of multiple stabbings. My mother,on the other hand, fled from Genghis Ho's clutches and up till today she is no where to be found. My days grew bleak and dreary ever since UNTIL TODAY. Like any other ordinary thursday, I, the Emperor was having my workout with my most trusted Prime Minister. After i finished, i proceeded to the canteen WHEN SUDDENLY this lady by the name of May called out to me and said:"I am of a higher rank than you Mr Emperor!" Immediately everyones' faces changed. All were uttering words to her to be quiet and retract her comment. All except my female advisor who then said:"Me also! I also have a higher rank than you." Taking into account that my female advisor has been doing her job well, I decided to pardon her but as for the other lady,May, her words made me feel uneasy. Something was not right. Something was not not wrong. Why would she say that for no reason? Just then i peered up and my royal eyes accidentally caught a glimpse a the mole implanted within May's head. My vision blurred out as i was brought back in time where i was with my mother. Ahhh.. the mole.. exactly the same!! MUMMY its you!!

The Wrath of Military Commander-In-Chief. The Actual Recount from the Prime Minister

Wah. Today a war broke out in e nasty comp lab where morgan set his viruses free. Disregarding all the nonsense, Emperor Chen's military c-i-c (aka commander in chief) took on CGG. Hahaa... cant believe Morgan's virus managed to change the background of the scene. (*swish) Suddenly, they were like fighting in e middle of a cherry blossom forest which in my opinion was a great place to kick each other's ass. And i must admit i m a fortunate man to witness one of the greatest fights in e Chen Dynasty Era.

CIC Zhong popped out his weapon out of nowhere and shouted THOUSAND hockey air hooks... IMMEDIATELY, the ground trembled, e leaves rustled... somehow and dun ask me how that one single hockey stick convert to a thousand sticks n whacked chen gong1 gong1 (for ppl whose han yu pin yin not tt good) all over his body inluding his *ahem. But somehow chen gong1gong1 got STRONGER after getting hit in the *ahem. Zhong was shocked. Almost all e men he fought with surrendered when they were low-blowed. Then he realized, Chen Gong Gong has no *ahem... in tt short moment, he was enlightened. But it was too late, Chen Gong Gong had already pulled out his recorder n started playing the "guan yin ma's melody". N then i noe, it was me. i walked away from the scene n *poop, a lady by e name of Yam came out to save CIC. She used her "Scary Medusa's Stare" at Chen gong1 gong1 for a few seconds and shouted "Chen Gong3 Gong3!" and right there on the spot he got petrified n turned gong3gong3!!! Wow!

Wow. i was impressed. E lady disappeared. Zhong was free. But fearing ppl will laugh at his weak defences against music, he got no choice but to attend this music recital course @ 7pm to learn his defences from a master. Meanwhile, the unknown lady saved the day! Hooray. Chen Gong1 Gong1 was later converted back to human form, but as he stood too long in the forest without an umbrella and sun bloc, he got a bit of a heat stroke n as a result suffered a fever. I expect him to be MIA (missing in action) until Monday. Sad life la him.

I believe Emperor Chen will give him a chance to turn over a new leaf if he stopped his "current: fake eunuch, future: emperor Huat" bullshit n changed it to "current: fake emperor, future: Loyal Chen Gong1 Gong1". We shall reward him and shall forget his past misdeeds which include disrepecting the Emperor, slandering the PM, hurting our Commander-in-Chief, and allying with the German Warlord Thana.

it was about 1pm in the afternoon. while s43 was enjoying their math tutorial, huangho contemplated how she should spend her mother tongue break. she decided to head towards the canteen and was rewarded with a mindblowing experience. at first she thought she was having a heavenly revelation because the voice she heard could only have been that of an angel's. then she saw The Angel. her heart melted like butter in a microwave oven.

i shall refrain from sharing the elation of the experience lest the rest of you get jealous and attempt to seduce and steal him (couBOMgh!)

Hey everybody,
I realised the blog is becoming a war ground of sorts. Sadly, the war is kind of stupid in my opinion. I am okay with Reuben posting his emperor posts( except maybe the reference to me as having buns of steel) but what is this about another empire and all...kinda lame isn't it? I may be a killjoy here, but somehow its quite pathetic to see stuff like that posted on the blog for some reason. Oh yeah and try to use somewhat proper english, I don't think its healthy to type in shorthand for blogs, lest we degenerate into tHiS wHoRx......okay that was a bit exaggerated.
Now that I have gotten that out of the way, I can proceed with what I promised to post. I asked Ser En to check it out, but for the heck of it I shall post it here in summarised form.

1. Handholding: Acceptable. Intimate enough to show the girl that ur declaration of couplehood

2. Kissing: Acceptable within limits. Kiss goodbye or hello. No tongue action

3. Declarations of Love: UNACCEPTABLE. This is funny so I quote "Breaking out a public “I love you” is unacceptable in just about every situation, save for joyous celebratory events, hospital settings and other highly emotional moments. Under no circumstances should your buddies ever witness you uttering those words to your girl, just as you should be the only one within earshot of your girl when she lets loose on the L word."

4.Pet Names: UNACCEPTABLE. "The last thing anyone needs to know is that your lady calls you her teddy bear;your reputation might not be able to take the beating. It might be hard to avoid the odd "sweetheart" or "baby," and the sarcastic “yes, dear,” but try to keep them to a minimum and avoid responding to them to discourage future use."

5.Babying: UNACCEPTABLE. Gentlemanly things like offering a jacket is okay but no grooming or spoon feeding...we are not animal nor are we our sig other's mom/dad. Don't treat them as if they can't look after themselves. (henpecked anyone??)

6. Space invasion: Acceptable but tacky. Well apparently the idea of claiming your girl is tacky.

7.Ass smacking : Acceptable but not advised. i.e use sparingly and with humour!

In the midst of imminent splits and campaign for wars, a special and rare event happened in the VJC canteen today. A red, shiny object that flickers and darts randomly on the ceiling has been spotted!

The UFO (Unidentified Flickering Object) has been given a temporary name of "Laser Point", and according to distinguished astronomer and philosopher Dr Luket De Stauz, the relative occurence of "Laser Point" has been reported to be once every year, even though this year it has anomalously appeared more than twice in the space of a month. In the previous sighting, this has been spotted in locations outside of the canteen, i.e. the lecture theatres.

Mr Su An Ming, our resident astrologer, has postulated that the recent double sighting of Laser Point is an ominous sign that war is imminent, and that a new dark side will emerge to disrupt Emperor Chen's reign. In addition, he has also predicted that Ms Cai will complete tutorial 8.2 by the next tutorial, and that citizens should start preparing tutorial 8.3.

Our two correspondents, Jared and Pin Rui, were present to track the movements of this rare spot. Pictures were taken using a non-existent camera, and since like produces like, the photos are also non-existent. This has resulted in them being jeered by their colleagues for a few moments.

Aggressive, dynamic, forceful and animated are a few words to describe the actions of Mr. and Mrs D as the days go by. Another day with Mr. and Mrs D still around is another day of discomfort and pain.
Today, once again i was left alone in the presence of Mr. and Mrs D after econs tutorial. Without hesitating, it begun. The movements were agile and sharp. Slick and to the point. My vision started to quiver, my legs started to wobble. In desperation I, yes me the Emperor, flung myself onto the window to signal for help. Though my vision was blurred, it was clear to me that a "clown" was running away from the scene, it was clear that he was afraid, it was clear that he was Chen gonggong. Other than that, i was immediately saved from the evil clutches of Mr and Mrs D by my lai ren(guards). I was angry and instantly call Shreya to commence the bashing. With a confident nod of her head, she proceeded. I, the Emperor, stood there to witness the fight. She roared out,"Cricket bat!" and out of nowhere her bat appeared in her grasp. She then dash towards Mr.D. As the bat accelerated towards Mr. D's head, Mr.D flicked it away. Shreya lost balance and from behind, Mrs D came forward with a mighty kick and my supreme guard got sent back to her literature class.
I told this to my advisors, cleaven and jiaxin, and they told me its time to bring out the "big guns".
Legend has it said that there is this man, this man of steel. His muscles bulge like free. It is also said that when he flex his muscles, his clothes just shreds away. He goes by the name of Zonghe and I, the Emperor, am proud to announce that he is already in my service. He is my Military Commander-in-Chief and I'm sure he has got something installed for Mr. and Mrs D. Muhahahahahahahaha...

1) 100 taels will be given to the Prime Minister Wenjun for his long services to the Emperor.
2) 50 taels will be given to the Chief Magistrate for complementing the Emperor.
3) A warning has been given to Chen gonggong to turn back from his meager rebellion and join
